Guide To The Best Luggage Sets
 by: Dave Text

Luggage sets are the items that not only carry your belongings but carry them with more organization, style and security. Luggage sets not only assure you that your belongings are safe but also are in perfect sync with your personality. That is why you will find a huge range available in the market that suit different packing needs, budgets and personalities. No matter what your idea for it is but it is for sure that you will find one that fits your bill. This article aims in guiding you to different types of luggage sets available in the market and will assist you in making a wise choice.

These are broadly classified into two categories i.e. large luggage sets and small luggage sets.

Large Luggage sets: mainly consist of suitcases and Pullmans. The difference is the type of material used.

Hard-sided Suitcases: are the most durable types and are generally made from plastic, metal and other molded materials. They are built for heavy and rugged use and can sustain abusive handling during travel.

Semi Soft-sided Suitcases: are also made from plastic and other molded materials and offer more space compared to the hard sided suitcases making your belongings more secure.

Soft-sided suitcases: are lightweight and generally expandable with no internal framework allowing more room for clothes.

Small Luggage Sets: are compact and used for a variety of purposes. They include

Business cases: that can hold your laptop, important papers, and in some cases a pair of clothes for an overnight trip.

Totes and Casual Bags: feature pockets and shoulder straps but the ideal tote bag is the one which is small and can be used for casual outings.

Duffle Bags: are typically soft sided bags with more room to carry lots of clothes and accessories but do not guarantee resistance to rough use.

Backpacks: are usually designed for more casual traveling and outdoor trips but are more spacious and organized with multiple pockets and shoulder straps for ease of carrying around.

Carry on sets: are small and can be easily carried under airplane seat. Come handy during short overnight trips.

There are some important aspects to you need to consider if you want to buy the best one. While buying, you need to make proper choices about the material used in its construction, type of hardware used in it, and the organizational features which makes it more versatile. It is also important that the set you want to buy should be able to accommodate all your belongings with proper organization. Also consider new design features, for instance transformer bags that begin as one bag and with the help of zips and other mechanism end up as another. Also the piggyback bags where one bag is attached to another by a zipper. You can also consider special luggage packing systems those are designed to organize clothes and keep them wrinkle-free. Consider both hard sided and the soft sided luggage before making your choice. Most of the models equipped with wheels should be considered as it reduces efforts to carry the heavy luggage. When considering wheeled models, look for wheels that have a wide track, have a bearing system and recessed into the actual frame of the bag.

Traveling with Baby

Firstly you need the right equipment, if you are traveling to destination that takes longer to get to than the time between your babies feeds then yes you definitely will need to have the right travel equipment.

A few things to look at

Space

Liquids

Pooh

Clothing

Luggage

#1  Space, under two year olds will generally not be given a seat, this means you will have them on your lap for the duration of the journey, not too bad if it's a short flight but on long haul if you don't pay the extra and book a seat you will be sorry  - my advice, pay the money

#2 Liquids   get customs information regarding traveling with baby formula, some domestic destinations are OK for you to take a bottle, others  wont let you take more than 100ml regardless.

Don't listen to friends or family on this issue, the rules are constantly changing so go to the airline you are travelling with and ask them for specific instructions.

One innovative company that has come up with a solution to the needs of travelers with babies and small children are  babies travellite this world wide service is exceptional have a look here.

#3Pooh -  yes there will no doubt be pooh, this is where you need to have the best nappies and the best wipes for the journey, many babies seem to develop diarrhea when traveling- you can be prepared as best you can with top quality nappies and wipes, keep them just for the air travel.

#4 Clothing- Airline change tables and toilets are very small On a long haul journey keep  babies and toddlers in comfortable easy to get on and off outfits,  save the fidley fussy outfits for when you are on the ground.

Always take at least one change of clothes for baby on board with another change for every four hours travel time

#5 Luggage  If you haven't already, invest in the best baby bag you can afford, this bag becomes your lifeboat in the sea of travel, it needs to be big, easy to get into and have lots of ample pockets, have a look at EBags .for inspiration

Finally, don't be afraid to ask the stewards for help, its all part of the service and remember they have heard it all before so don't be embarrassed about anything.

Keep your sense of humor and don't order anything you cant eat with a toddler on your lap!

Unique Brisbane: Scintillating Southbank   by Richard Greaves

Holiday makers for whom Brisbane is just a transit point for the beaches of the Gold Coast are missing out on a lot. For Brisbane is a friendly, relaxed capital with reams of things to see and do that make it well worth a few days of your holiday time. Much of the city's leisure facilities are in the relatively new Southbank area south of the river.

The Southbank development transformed the Brisbane River area and added a whole new dimension to the city. The sleazy riverside area formerly known as South Brisbane received a massive makeover for the 1988 World Expo. The Expo really put Brisbane on the map and imbued it with a cosmopolitan sophistication that was formerly lacking.

As a result, South Brisbane was born again as the clean, green zone of Southbank. Southbank consists of an artificial beach and lagoon amid parklands and a riverfront promenade for taking the air, jogging and rollerblading. The extensive beach area features lifeguards.

Southbank's parklands extend about one kilometre along the south bank of the Brisbane River offering a fresh and leafy environment with scenic views of the city skyline across the river. Strolling through these wooded areas you would never imagine these parklands were anything other than ancient.

Southbank is a great place for a picnic or a BBQ and the space of 120 hectares means you can always find a secluded spot. If you don't want to bring your own food, there are over 30 restaurants, cafes and takeaways to choose from.

Most of the buildings put up for the Expo were removed. Now all that remains are some utility buildings a refurbished pub, and a unique 2-story pagoda donated by the Nepalese people. West of the pagoda is the Performing Arts Centre and the Queensland Museum and Art Gallery.

After strolling, sunbathing and picnicking, you can get a dose of Brisbane history at the Maritime Museum at the eastern boundary of Southbank, near Goodwill Bridge. Exhibits include the old Frigate HMAS Diamantina dating from 1945, ship models, ship engines, details of shipwrecks and lighthouses. The old steam-powered tug Forceful offers tours up and down the river on certain days.

Another popular pull at Southbank are the open air markets on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. Southbank is also home to the Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Opera Queensland, Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland Museum, and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

So the next time youre re in Queensland visit Brisbane and make sure you get to Southbank. It's a great area and you may well find yourself extending your stay at one of the many excellent Brisbane city hotels.

Get The right Travel Insurance at the Right Price.

Get The right Travel Insurance at the Right Price. Everything is planned and you're ready for your hard earned holiday, new luggage, new camera, maps & guides, Yep all set, but wait you've forgotten a real important essential, -Insurance.  It's a bit like the old amex advertising , don't leave home without it, I certainly won't anymore after a trip to Africa where the airline lost my luggage and I got a severe case of the old travellers belly. I can tell you I was very glad that I had taken out insurance, which in the scheme of things was very cheap compared to the rest of the holiday.

Most Insurance Policies show you in plain English what is covered, however you may want to ask some questions if you're not sure about the Insurance requirements for jumping the Grand Canyon on a skateboard, or tracking hippo in the Okavango delta.

On one trip I did to the Okavango I was actually surprised to find out that my insurance didn't cover me for being trampled by angry White Rhino or being gored by a cape buffalo, so what I'm saying here is check the details if you are going on a more adventurous type holiday.

Find out what happens if you get hospitalised in a foreign country, does the Insurance Company pay the bill or do you have to pay and claim back later. Find out exactly what you get cover for and what's excluded, that way there's no nasty surprises in the event of a mishap. Below I've outlined the most important considerations for travel Insurance.

The 5 parts of a Policy.

1. Medical emergencies & evacuation If there is one reason to buy travel insurance, this is it.. Definitely take the time to read this part of the policy in detail, especially the areas of cover for emergency evacuation, limits on medical expenses and cover for emergency dental work. Also make careful note of the policy exclusions .

2. Trip Cancellation This covers you for costs if you suddenly find you can't go on your trip for some unforeseen reason such as illness or a death of a close relative. The important thing to remember here is that for this section of the policy to be useful, you have to buy the policy when you start booking tickets and not the week before you leave.

3. Personal Belongings While loss of your personal belongings is often the main reason most people buy travel insurance, it is arguably the least important: your things can be replaced but your health often can't. World Nomads expects you to take 'reasonable care' of your belongings which means a claim will be probably denied if you leave your baggage unattended in a public place and it's stolen.

4. Personal liability First off this is not insurance for liability while you are driving your car. If you cause an accident when abroad and injure someone, insurance can cover your liability and legal expenses. This could be from hanging your dirty laundry on the sprinkler pipes in the local hostel and drenching the entire building to knocking over that expensive vase with your backpack while shopping in Venice. Once again not all World Nomads insurers offer this type of cover sp please read your policy wording

5. Resumption of your journey Travel insurance usually ends the minute you arrive home, so if you have bought a policy for 12 months and come home after 4 you aren't entitled to a refund on the 'unused' portion.

Finally if you don't understand any part of the policy ask questions, make a list and call the company or send an email and get your answers in writing even better. We all hope that Insurance isn't necessary, but when it is, it's sure comforting to know it's the best we could purchase.

Happy travelling .
